10 years ago, Erik and Gabi met in a dark, crowded, and not-so-romantic bar...the Palms Bar and Grill. Gabi asked her freshman year friends to set her up with a guy they knew, and Erik was the lucky one. A Chicago guy and a Milwaukee girl... what isn't there to love about that? Gabi was able to make it through their first meeting despite Erik wearing a Cubs jersey that night. After their brief meeting, they decided to go their separate ways for the Summer. So much so that Erik didn't even ask for her number; however, as the future shows, that wouldn't end up mattering. That fateful night in the most romantic bar in New Orleans was just the beginning of the 10-year love story of Erik and Gabi.

Through a few months of very strong persistence from Erik against an equally strong willed Gabi (what happens when two oldest come together), the couple became official, and through the next 4 years of college, Gabi and Erik grew together as a couple through all of the ups and downs of college, parties, studying abroad, and eventually, graduate school.

The truth about our relationship is that it has always been shared with the people we love who helped us through all that life has to offer. We wouldn't be anywhere without all of the people who loved and supported us along the way. The other truth about our relationship is that 10 years is a LONG time.
